The Hillsborough Nursery & Primary School Promise outlines our commitment to ensuring every child benefits from a range of exciting and enriching experiences. We believe that access to wider opportunities beyond the core curriculum is vital to personal development and lies at the heart of our values: Believe, Belong, Become.

Our promise is divided into 5 core strands:

Each strand represents an aspect of children’s personal development that is central to fostering their self‑Belief, sense of Belonging, and aspiration to realise their dreams and Become the best version of themselves.

To provide our children with plentiful opportunities to engage with the arts through diverse programs in music, drama, visual arts, and creative workshops, nurturing their creativity, self-expression, confidence, and cultural appreciation.

To provide opportunities for our children to head outdoors and discover new places and experiences, fostering a sense of adventure, curiosity, environmental awareness and resilience while developing new skills, physical fitness and appreciation for nature through real-world learning experiences.

To encourage our children to actively engage with the community, fostering a sense of belonging and social responsibility. Through meaningful local projects and interactions, children will develop communication skills, respect for others, and a commitment to making a positive difference in their surroundings.

To inspire children to explore their interests and teach them about a wide range of careers through engaging experiences and exposure to a range of role models. Children will build confidence, curiosity, and ambition, helping them imagine who they can become and understand how their learning can take them there.

To support our children to explore their strengths, work effectively with others to achieve shared goals, and be active contributors to school life. We aim to build confidence, communication skills and responsible decision-making so children feel empowered to shape their future.
